In 2017 a £45.7 million investment package was announced as part of a significant programme to invest in the regeneration of Paisley’s town centre. The funding was aimed at the improvement of public transport and public spaces as well as improvements to a number of historic and/or culturally significant assets.
The upgrading of Paisley Town Hall was identified as a key element of the longer-term regeneration of Paisley Town Centre. The refurbishment and upgrade to include additional facilities would provide a modern resource that is fit for purpose within an important historic building.
The project was the design, upgrade, and modernisation of the category A listed Paisley Town Hall. The core objective of the contract was to deliver a fit for purpose venue within Paisley, contributing to the regeneration and associated long term economic benefits for Paisley town centre.
