Sustainable Procurement Tools

Background and objectives

This case study details how Fife Council have identified opportunities to address climate change through procurement, helping those who have responsibility for key categories and contracts to understand where to focus effort to achieve the most positive outcomes.

The Council’s approach builds on previous work and supports the development of a structured approach to climate and wider sustainable procurement in support of the Council’s economic, social and environmental objectives.

These efforts resulted in a much-improved score in the Procurement Capability Improvement Programme (PCIP) 2024 assessment.
